Your Honey Does Matter
Yes, you read the title correctly. Your honey does matter! We are not talking about your boo, suga, puddin’ and all those sweet names you call your partner -although they matter too.
Honey is very beneficial for your overall health IF you are using the right kind of honey. With so many different selections in the store isles today, it is easy to purchase the ones that are less beneficial for you and your family.
Why is honey so beneficial?
Raw honey contains disease-preventing and disease-fighting flavonoids. Raw honey contains both propolis and bee pollen so you get the benefits of those two natural powerhouses as well. It has been scientifically proven to help with allergies, diabetes, sleep problems, coughs and wound healing.
Honey is not limited to your biscuits and honey and peanut butter sandwiches. It can be used internally and externally to better your health.
When choosing your honey you must determine if the honey is raw or not. There is a reason for this of course. Raw honey can provide the nutrients and other many benefits that you need that “regular” honey simply can not.
When I was a “newly” honey user, I just purchased honey and did not pay any attention to whether it was raw or not. I should have known that there was a difference because I would see some with the comb and some without. I would also notice some that were lighter than others. What about the honey that I was getting at KFC and Popeye’s to top my biscuits with? Could I just apply that honey to my face and receive the same benefits as raw honey? At the time I had no idea but as I began to research a little deeper into products and natural remedies, I learned that there is a difference.
The saying goes that if we know better we can do better. I tossed the old processed honey and replaced it with a raw honey. I know, I know…..you may not want to “waste money” by tossing your honey but we have to look at the bigger picture. Why don’t you look at it like you are tossing one more thing out of your life that could cost you your health. Throw it away and pat yourself on the back or give yourself a big tight hug for loving yourself enough to throw away something that is not adding to you but more so could contribute to dis-eases.
