How to Reduce Menstrual Cramps by Yoni Steaming

As a teenager, I missed many days of school because my cramps were excruciating. I would spend most of my day curled up on the floor crying. My mother would offer me pain medications but at the time, swallowing a pill was completely out of the question. This carried on into my adult-hood. During my cycle, I would completely clear my schedule so that I could curl up on the sofa and tolerate the pain all day. I have never been a big fan of medications, so I would tolerate the pain, nausea and hot flashes for days.

As an adult, I tried to take medications like Pamprin and Midol to ease the pain, but these medications made me feel sleepy and jittery. I had to find another alternative.

I began to research natural ways to ease my pain and this is when I discovered the yoni steam. I googled a location near me that had a yoni steam blend available for purchase. At the time, I resided in Vidalia, GA and the nearest yoni steam blend that I could find was sold by a lady named Cherica Jones (The Yoni Lady) in Savannah, GA. I contacted her and made a trip her way.

She shared with me a lot of information on how the yoni steam can help support womb health. I was fascinated and purchased my blend right away. I did not have a yoni steaming chair so I had to steam another way.

For a yoni steam you will need:

  1. A medium-large sized pot
  2. Herbal blend
  3. Heat resistant bowl
  4. Blanket
  5. Sanitized toilet
  6. Candles (optional)
  7. Relaxation music (optional)

How to prepare:

  1. Fill a pot almost full of water
  2. Add herbal blend
  3. Steep herbs for approximately 15-20 minutes
  4. Pour the contents of the pot into a heat resistant bowl
  5. Lift the seat on your toilet
  6. Place bowl in the toilet (a large bowl will fit perfectly)
  7. Let down seat lid
  8. Remove your clothes or bottoms and sit over the herbs allowing the steam to penetrate the womb area. If temperature is too hot, let cool to prevent burning.
  9. Wrap blanket around you to trap in steam.
  10. Sit until yoni steam cools.

After doing this only twice, my cramps went away. Yoni steaming can also regulate your cycle and minimize your cycle days. If your cycle lasts longer than usual, yoni steaming may be a great fit for you. Do not yoni steam while on your cycle.

Herbs are potent medicine. Herbs in yoni steams support the health of the wound and can naturally combat conditions such as yeast infections, fibroids, endometriosis and odor. Steaming is also great for postpartum child birth.

Yoni steaming is a time where I am focused on me. I light candles, play zen music, diffuse an essential oil and relax. This is YOU time! Self care is so important ladies. We give so much of ourselves and many have traumatized wombs from past hurts. Steaming is a great way to detox and re-balance.

It can be beneficial to yoni steam once a month to support womb health.
